Sensor Guided Robotic Smart Car

In this workshop, we will be aiming to build Sensor Guided Robotic Smart Car. The workshop discusses the fundamentals of robotics and then later will dive into the core components such as assembling of the parts, integration of the electronic circuitry and finally programming of microcontroller. We are going to use Arduino for the entire use case. In order to make this autonomous we will be employing ultra-sonic sensor that will be programmed using Arduino. So a good question, one may ask who is it for? Well, it is for anyone who is interested to learn robotic fundamentals and willing to build smart robotic vehicle. This program is designed in supervision of highly qualified NERDSTOP team including experts from UC Berkeley and MIT . With a little bit of more effort this autonomous car can act as an IoT device and that will be focus of our upcoming robotic workshops.

Preferred Pre-Requisites

  • Passion of Robotics and its Application.
  • Fast learner.
  • Problem Solver.
  • Basic Programming skills.
  • Basic Electronics and parts assembly.

Workshop Outcomes

  • Learn mechanics involved in building motors.
  • Hands on experience in assembling gearbox and integration of various components of Smart Robotic Car.
  • Understanding of Microcontroller and techniques to upload programmable code
  • In depth knowledge of Gears, Torques & Sprouts.
  • Understanding of Ultrasonic Sensor and techniques to integrate with Microcontroller.
  • How to turn a vehicle and manipulate motors to initiate torque using programmable code.
  • Fully functional autonomous robotic smart car that can detect obstacles and maneuver itself.

  • 2 days (Weekends from 9am to 5pm).
